Ten School of Communications students will be recognized at the 2024 Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) Conference held Feb. 2 in Montgomery, Alabama.
In recognition of their exceptional academic performances and involvement in professional development activities related to the sport industry, 10 榴莲app官方网站入 sport management majors will be inducted in February into the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) .
Induction into Chi Sigma Mu (CSM) is limited to high-achieving students enrolled in COSMA-accredited programs. 榴莲app官方网站入 Department of Sport Management was granted accreditation in February, becoming one of 36 such programs in the United States.
Faculty at accredited institutions may nominate up to 10 undergraduate students for honor society consideration. To be eligible for CSM induction, students who are majoring in sport management must have completed at least 60 credit hours and maintain a 3.4 GPA. Additionally, according to COSMA guidelines, the inductees are expected to 鈥減erform at the top of their class academically, volunteer within their department, college, and institution, pursue professional development opportunities, and foster community between students and faculty within their program.鈥

According to Young Do Kim, associate professor of sport management, in addition to their stellar performance in the classroom, this year鈥檚 inductees have completed multiple internship experiences, held numerous leadership positions, and conducted service activities on campus and in the greater community.
