Janna Anderson, associate professor in the School of Communications and director of the Imagining the Internet Center, was the closing keynote speaker May 11 at Webcom, located at ICAO in Montreal, Canada.

Jeffrey Pugh, professor of religious studies, detailed the dreams and potential of the 2011 Lumen Scholars at a banquet on May 10.

A new website has been created to allow the Elon community to continue discussion of issues raised at this spring's Convocation for Honors. The website includes video excerpts, transcripts of panelist comments and the opportunity for you to add your comments and ideas on each of the convocation topics.

John G. Sullivan, Powell Professor of Philosophy Emeritus, published an essay titled “The Hidden Work of Eldering,” in the Spring 2011 issue of Itineraries, the electronic journal of the NC-non-profit, Second Journey.

Mary Gowan, who has been dean of ����app�ٷ���վ��’s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business since 2007, will step down as dean at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year. She will remain as a faculty member in the Love School of Business, teaching courses as a professor of management.

In the new issue of the Magazine of Elon, President Leo M. Lambert outlines plans for eight major construction projects as part of the Elon Commitment strategic plan. More than 1,284 new residence hall spaces will be built over the next three years as part of a transformation of the residential experience. Other projects include a new retail building, including the campus bookstore, on Williamson Avenue; the Gerald L. Francis building on Haggard Avenue for graduate programs in physical therapy and physician assistant studies; a new multi-faith center in the Academic Village; and new facilities for Phoenix athletics.

For the second year in a row, ����app�ٷ���վ�� has been named one of the nation’s most “environmentally responsible green colleges” by the Princeton Review, in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council. The annual ranking profiles schools that “demonstrate notable commitments to sustainability in their academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparation.

����app�ٷ���վ��’s Imagining the Internet Center has been named a laureate in the 2011 Computerworld Honors Program. Computerworld Honors, founded in 1998 is the longest running global program to honor individuals and organizations that use information technology to promote positive social, economic and educational change.
