What does revenge taste like? Whipped cream, apparently. Dozens of students took part in “Pie Your Professor” at College Coffee on Tuesday morning in a program sponsored by the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Hundreds of ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë students will be involved in activities during CELEBRATE! 2011, a weeklong celebration of student achievements in academics and the arts that begins April 26 and runs through May 2. Programs include seminars, art exhibitions, plays, a film festival, dance and music performances.

Students and staff from ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë gathered May 1 in Graham, N.C., for the dedication of the 20th Habitat for Humanity home built by Elon volunteers since the international nonprofit program first established a chapter at the university in 1989.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë senior Tracy Schell wanted to stay on campus last summer to prepare for her final year of study, but she needed a paid internship to do so. That’s when she visited Career Services. Now, with her own Commencement just weeks away, Schell not only has work experience on her resume because of the visit - she has a job lined up with one of the region’s largest employers.

The Haw River has been key to the region’s growth and development over the centuries, and as associate professor emerita Anne Cassebaum writes in her new book, Down Along the Haw: The History of a North Carolina River, its importance can’t be ignored as efforts continue to preserve one of the region’s vital waterways.

Last year’s iMedia graduates, the first from the program, have landed in an array of positions with organizations across the nation. Of the 32 graduates who responded to a survey from Career Services, 31 are employed full-time in a position directly related to their career aspirations.
