In recognition of over 15 years of professional commitment, leadership and service to the Decision Sciences Institute, Southwest Region, Lynn R. Heinrichs has been selected to receive the organization's 2010 Distinguished Service Award.

Tony Weaver, assistant professor in the Department of Leisure and Sport Management, presented to members of the Lumina Foundation last week in Indianapolis. The presentation, "The Cost of College Athletics," examined current trends in Division I athletic spending.

The events include a special College Coffee on March 9, a Whitley Auditorium College Chapel service on March 11 and, later that evening, a fireside chat in Whitley Auditorium where Danieley will answer questions collected in advance from students by the Student Government Association.

A research report authored by associate professor Mathew Gendle and Elizabeth Olszewski '09 has been published in the Spring 2010 issue of the Journal of the North Carolina Academy of Science.
