Glenn Helms

Glenn L. Helms, Ph.D., CPA, CIA, CISA, a professor of accounting at Elon, was recipient of the North Carolina Association of CPA’s Outstanding Conference and Seminar Discussion Leader Awards. The awards were presented on April 30 at the North Carolina Association of CPA’s annual meeting held at the Grandover resort in Greensboro, N.C.

Helms receives national award for third consecutive year.

Glenn L. Helms, Ph.D., CPA, CIA, CISA, Professor of Accounting is to recieve the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Outstanding Discussion Leader Award for the third consecutive year. Dr. Helms has also received similar awards from various state societies of CPAs for the past several years.

Glenn L. Helms, Ph.D., CPA, CIA, CISA has had a new book published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The book, Internal Control Essentials for Financial Managers, Accountants, and Auditors, is one of the AICPA’s best sellers. Helms is a professor of accounting.

Dr. Glenn L. Helms, Professor of Accounting, is to receive the North Carolina Association of CPA’s Outstanding Seminar Discussion Leader Award and also the Don Farmer Award at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro on May 2, 2007. The Don Farmer Award is presented to the highest rated seminar speaker during 2006. Dr. Helms has been awarded the Outstanding Seminar Discussion Leader Award for three consecutive years. Dr. Helms was awarded the Don Farmer award two years ago. The Don Farmer award is never awarded to the same individual in consecutive years.

Dr. Glenn L. Helms, Professor of Accounting, recently addressed Korean CPAs, including members of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, in Seoul, South Korea. The topic was “The International Implications of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002”.

Glenn Helms, Professor of Accounting, recently made a presentation to Lexmark on “Fraudulent Accounting and Financial Reporting.” Dr. Helms has made this presentation to a variety of organizations, including Microsoft, the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspectors, Northrop Grumman, Babcock and Wilcox, and numerous state association of CPAs.
