SPARKS peer educators applications available for Fall 2008

SPARKS peer educators are hiring for Fall 2008. Are you interested in educating students about wellness issues relating to alcohol, body image, sexual assault and other topics? We’ve got the job for you. Peer educators plan and implement wellness program on campus and teach seminars on various topics. For an application, email Lauren Martin at lmartin10@elon.edu. Applications are due April 9 at 5pm to the Substance Education Office (Koury 154).

Sexual assault prevention panel on April 3

Want to talk about ways to prevent sexual assault on Elon’s campus and all over? Come to a Sexual Assault Prevention Panel on Thursday, April 3, at 6 p.m. in McEwen 011. There will be various speakers with different perspectives on prevention, but this will also be a time for students to voice their comments and concerns.

This event is sponsored by SPARKs Peer Education as a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Deadline approaching for Low-Risk Grants

Are you planning on having a low-risk event early in Winter Term? Get your Low-Risk Grant Application in now! The last opportunity to meet with a Peer Educator before the end of the semester is Dec 5. from 3-5pm.

If you want to do an event in early January, you need to turn in your application now. Go to the Substance Education Web site to download an application. You can also contact Lauren Martin at x7285.

How would you like to get a $10 Target gift card?

Participate in a research project about personal narratives. This will take about 30 to 45 minutes of your time. All you have to do is talk about stories and memories and take a survey. Sessions will be held in long 204. Are you interested? For more info, e-mail Jessi Young at jyoung7@elon.edu.
