The Periclean Scholars Program inducted 16 rising sophomores into its 22nd cohort as students begin a three-year journey focused on ethical community engagement, global partnership, and food sovereignty.

The six teams of students presented the results of their yearlong projects on May 8 in the Hunt Atrium of Founders Hall.

At its annual awards celebration on May 7 in Turner Theatre, the School of Communications recognized outstanding student accomplishments, presented its Outstanding Senior Awards, and honored this year’s Kappa Tau Alpha honor society inductees.

LIFE@Elon members came together with a food drive to support SAFE, a food pantry that serves Alamance County, as a celebration of its 15-year anniversary, gathering 1,192 food items and $1,880.

Each week, LIFE@Elon members, 50 and older, gather in South Gym for a fun session of pickleball that encourages healthy activity and builds meaningful community.

LIFE@Elon, a lifelong learning program at Elon, trains its student workers in CPR, AEDs, and first aid to create an environment of preparedness, supporting seniors in the community.

Walter M. Williams High School students worked with ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë student mentors on year-long statistics research projects. The students presented their research in the morning poster session at SURF.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë students brought the Go Baby Go initiative to campus in April, which helps to modify ride on toy cars fro children with mobility challenges.

Elon's commitment to multifaith engagement is reflected in the work its students do in the community, from teaching ESL courses at a local mosque to making food for a community church.

The event, organized by Mayte de Lama, associate professor of Spanish, featured a series of interactive tables, each representing a different country or culture.
