The Sport Management Department hosted its annual fall internship forum on Oct. 1, featuring a lively panel discussion and poster session.

In collaboration with UNC professor Lucinda Austin, the School of Communications faculty member and strategic communications major examined corporate social advocacy and political activism through the case of DICK’s Sporting Goods and the company’s recent stance on gun control reform.

Sixty-five participants jumpstarted their career development at the Oct. 23 event. 

During the two-day trip, 29 students visited with communications professionals and ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë alumni, receiving a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of several prominent organizations, including CNN, Jackson Spalding and the Atlanta Falcons.

Student volunteers are needed to help run former Library Director MJ Wilkerson's retirement party.

The on-campus event will be Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. in Inman Admissions Welcome Center. 

The student media organization showed off some of its student artists at a concert at Fat Frogg in October.
