Ten communications faculty and staff members attended the 2019 Broadcast Education Association conference and Festival of Media Arts, where Assistant Professor Doug Kass was recognized for his public service announcement promoting the United Nations AIDS outreach program.

A film by School of Communications students Sophia Ortiz ’21 and Riley Bradford ’21 captured first place in the 2019 RiverRun International Film Festival’s Documentary Pitch Fest, a student competition judged by industry experts.

School of Communications students Alex Mancuso ’19, Hannah Garfield ’19 and Jared Mayerson ’20 screened their film “Knock Knock” on April 12 at the Visions Film Festival in Wilmington.

The Women’s ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë in Entertainment Empire mentorship program held its first informational meeting and social gathering on March 14, bringing together female students interested in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.

The American Advertising Federation, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Elon School of Communications sponsored a March 14 panel with professionals working in the television and advertising industries, as well as higher education.

Joyce Choi ’19 received a grant from the Center for Leadership and the School of Communications to attend a November conference addressing diversity and inclusion in Hollywood.

After a semester abroad in London, the junior has returned to serve as station manager of Elon's student-run television station.
