Ninety-eight new members were inducted into the ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë School of Communications chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at a May 6 ceremony in McKinnon Hall.

The faculty and administrators of Elon's School of Communications hosted the institution's annual student awards ceremony in McEwen Studio B April 9.

Interactive Media master's students Maria Rojas and Cathy Freeman were quoted in a WRAL.com story covering the WWW2010 conference in Raleigh, N.C. The Imagining the Internet Center at ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë sponsored FutureWeb, which ran jointly with WWW2010 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Three ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë students were named national winners in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards contest May 5.

Elon's Imagining the Internet Center, in partnership with the Pew Internet and American Life Project have issued a new report dealing with the future of the semantic Web. Technology experts who participated in a recent survey believe online information will continue to be organized and made accessible in smarter and more useful ways in coming years. There is stark dispute about whether the improvements will match the visionary ideals of those who are working to build the semantic Web.

A DVD created by Elon faculty members Brooke Barnett, Alexa Darby, Mary Knight-McKenna and Ken Calhoun has been accepted for distribution by First Light Video.
