Ross Wade, the assistant director of career services for the School of Communications, was interviewed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers regarding his use of Wordle to assist students with their resumes.

Four ����app�ٷ���վ�� employees were recognized for superior scholarship, teaching, mentoring and service at the annual faculty-staff awards luncheon on May 13, 2009. Laura Roselle, Connie Book, Glenda Crawford and Keith Dimont were each selected for one of the highest accolades bestowed each year on faculty and staff.

Richard Barnett worked in the White House for the final four years of the Nixon administration, ultimately serving as the presidential communications officer responsible for Camp David, Key Biscayne and San Clemente, where the first family vacationed and lived. Thirty-five years later, ����app�ٷ���վ�� senior Amy Reitnouer shares her grandfather’s stories in a documentary screened May 8 in the School of Communications.

����app�ٷ���վ��'s annual Media Board banquet on May 7 honored student communicators, as each of the six ����app�ٷ���վ�� student media groups recognized exemplary members from the past year.

More than 100 new members were inducted into the ����app�ٷ���վ�� School of Communications chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at a May 7 ceremony in McKinnon Hall.

Senior broadcast communications major Randy Gyllenhaal became the first ����app�ٷ���վ�� student to make it to the finals of the Hearst Journalism Awards Competition this year.

An ����app�ٷ���վ�� faculty member and two School of Communications students were featured March 11 in a Fox 8 (WGHP/High Point, N.C.) feature segment that examined the level of privacy, or lack thereof, that teenagers and young adults expect in the era of Facebook and YouTube.
