On Monday, Jan. 6, the Department of Physical Therapy Education and the Department of Physican Assistant Studies welcome the DPT and PA Classes of 2016.

The program in the Sacred Space of the Numen Lumen Pavilion signified the end of academic studies and the start of clinical education for members of the PA program's inaugural class.

Graduate students in Physician Assistant Studies heard Dec. 11, 2013, from several ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë professors who shared best practices for making a difference in the world by assisting the disadvantaged.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë leaders conferred degrees Sunday on 41 candidates in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in a Whitley Auditorium filled with family and friends of the new graduates.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë’s schools of law and health sciences hosted a forum about the intricacies of determining individual “capacity” in legal and medical contexts.  

Bill Andrews, PT, EdD, NCS, an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education, has co-authored an article published in the latest issue of the Journal of Physical Therapy Science. 

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Dr. Stephen Messier from Wake Forest University was invited to give a research talk for first year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students.

Srikant Vallabhajosula, assistant professor of physical therapy, presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics in September 2013.

The  Department of Physical Therapy Education will once again be offering a continuing education course "free" (with advanced registration) to our alumni and clinical instructors on Dec. 2-3.
