Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) faculty, staff and students visited Michelle Noronha’s seventh grade science class at Burlington Day School to talk with students about the importance of the human skeleton.

Paula DiBiasio and Doctor of Physical Therapy student volunteers Ashley Davis (2010), Heather Honeycutt (2010), Dana Tischler (2010), Jackque Scott (2011), Tracey Vincent (2011), Christina Ridenour (2012) , Angela Watkins (Elon DPT alumna), and friends Lucy Goodwin-Johansson, Megan Phillips, and Matthew McLaughlin participated in BikeAbility 2010, a bike clinic for individuals with disabilities, Saturday April 24th in Chapel Hill.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë hosted Special Olympics Alamance County on Friday as athletes from surrounding communities visited campus for the nonprofit’s annual spring games. Several university students volunteered for the program, which included appearances by Elon Phoenix football players, cheerleaders and the Phoenix mascot.

Tiffani Bacon, a 2003 graduate of the Elon DPT program, spent a week in Haiti providing much needed physical therapy services to children at the Love a Child Disaster Recovery Center. Thirty-eight students enrolled Jan. 4, 2010, in the DPT program in the Department of Physical Therapy Education. Their enrollment marks Elon’s eighth class of DPT students.

Thirty-seven candidates in Elon’s doctor of physical therapy program received their degrees on Dec. 6, 2009, in a ceremony featuring an address from John D. Childs, associate professor and director of research for the U.S. Army in the Baylor University doctoral program in physical therapy.

Charity Johansson, professor of physical therapy, presented a paper titled "Disintegration to Integration: Aging as a Transformative Process" at the 8th Annual Transformative Learning Conference.

Approximately 60 ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë physical therapy alumni and their families came back to campus over the weekend to reunite with friends and faculty.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë graduate students in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program joined with children from North Graham Elementary School on Oct. 14 for its third annual “Walk to School" Day.
