ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë seniors Ivy Crank, John Planisek, Lindsay Clement and Chase Rumley have been selected to join Teach for America, a highly selective program that recruits recent top college graduates and working professionals to commit two years to teach in low-income communities across the country. They were among 5,857 applicants in the first of four recruiting periods for the program’s 2009-10 academic year.

Commencement ceremonies were held on Aug. 23 for 27 M.Ed. students who completed their studies in the School of Education.

Glenda Crawford, an ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë professor of education, has written a new book to help middle and high school teachers develop class lessons that reach all kids in their room, whether gifted scholars, special needs students or adolescents with limited English skills.

Student leaders from a variety of academic disciplines were honored May 1 during the annual Omicron Delta Kappa awards ceremony in Whitley Auditorium and in individual departments throughout campus.
