An ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë assistant professor, and a junior sport and event management major, will have prominent roles in the collegiate recreational sports organization, particularly with issues relating to its April 2016 conference held in Kissimmee, Florida.

Six ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë students participated in the March conference’s student competition, analyzing and presenting a real baseball operations decision: trading a certain Philadelphia Phillies left-hander for maximum return. The students will discuss their Arizona presentation on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Koury Business Center, room 208.

ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë’s Premier Sport & Event Society brought together professionals from various aspects of the communications, event planning and sports industries on April 7 to share their insight and advice.

The assistant professor of sport and event management led three separate presentations relating to her work with a new Wiley book series, titled “New Directions for Student Leadership."

​ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë's Sports and Event Management program has partnered with the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department to host the first annual Haw River Hustle 5K on Nov. 23.

Five sport and event management majors helped manage a concession tent during men's and women's golf championships this summer in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and proceeds from their effort will benefit a scholarship program for ÁñÁ«app¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾Èë students completing sport and event mangagement internships.

The chapter highlights the need for effective academic and student life partnerships in creating meaningful educational opportunities.
