The town of Elon, which has a downtown filled with locally owned businesses, conveniently located parks and is the 3rd safest city in North Carolina. Burlington is the next closest city being 10 minutes south of Elon.

Graduate commencement is held in May and December for the various programs. In addition to an all student graduate commencement celebration, Elon celebrates three identity-based ceremonies: Donning of the Kente, Lavender Graduation and ¡Celebramos!.
